Abstract

Through this instrumental case study, researchers analyzed data collected by induction mentors and coaches to determine (a) which inside and outside mentoring practices they used and (b) how their mentoring and coaching goals aligned with those practices. Findings suggest that mentors and coaches used a range of approaches, but their goals aligned most closely with outside practices and with practices not initially identified. Recommendations include expanding professional learning on inside and outside practices and broadening the list of high-impact practices.
