As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • You must be the author or an authorized agent of the author(s) and copyright holder.  All authors must have approved the work for publication in the journal, and accept full responsibility for the content of the article.

  • The article must be the author(s) original work and must not contain any libelous or unlawful statements or infringe on the rights and privacy of others or contain material or instructions that might cause harm or injury.  The article must be the author(s) original work and must not contain any plagiarized material.

  • The article must not have been previously published, is not pending review elsewhere, and will not be submitted for review elsewhere pending the completion of the editorial decision process at the Collegiate Aviation Review International.  

  • Each article will undergo the journal’s editorial decision-making process, as described in the journal's policies.  The Collegiate Aviation Review International is not under any obligation to publish the article. The editorial staff will send notices to the email address associated with your account.

  • The text adheres to the formatting, stylistic, and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.  Articles should be submitted in either .doc or .docx formats.  Do not include your abstract in the document body.  Also, do not include running heads, page numbers, or title pages. Avoid including identifying information about the authors in the manuscript, as your submission will be sent to reviewers for blind review.
  • If the journal agrees to publish the article, in order to expedite the publishing process and enable the journal to circulate your work to the fullest extent, you hereby agree that upon publication, the following is automatically assigned to the publisher: all copyright in and to the article for the full term of the copyright and all renewals and extensions.  This is subject to generous personal-use exemptions and attribution and usage policies as described in the Journal Policies.

  • The author agrees to become a reviewer for the Collegiate Aviation Review International.  Authors agree to provide substantive, timely feedback in their reviews.

Submission Rules

Submitted manuscripts cannot be previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic).  Please note: “publication” in a working paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to the Collegiate Aviation Review International, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at the Collegiate Aviation Review International. Plagiarism

All manuscripts submitted to the Collegiate Aviation Review International will be assessed for originality using plagiarism detection software.  Plagiarism or other acts of scholarly dishonesty are serious offenses that may result in the manuscript being rejected and the authors prohibited from submitting scholarly works for future publication consideration. 

 

Formatting Requirements

  • Submissions will only be accepted in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx file formats.
  • Page size should be 8.5 x 11-inches
  • All margins (top, bottom, left, and right) should be 1-inch.
  • Use a single-column layout with left-justified, right-ragged margin.  This means text is aligned with the left margin and words that overrun the right margin fully move to the next line of text (does not split words between lines with a hyphen).
  • All manuscripts should be written in English.
  • Main body text should use Times New Roman, 12-point font.  Footnotes should use Times New Roman, 10-point font.
  • Single space text within paragraphs, double-space between paragraphs.
  • The first line of each paragraph should be indented 0.5 inches.
  • Begin your manuscript with the first sentence of the introduction.  Do not include a title page or abstract in the body of your manuscript.  These items will be added prior to publication by the editorial staff.
  • Do not include page numbers, headers, or footers.  These items will be added by the editorial staff.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted with tables, figures, appendices, and other content embedded within the document.  Figures or tables should be left-justified and labeled.  Once accepted, the editors may request high-definition figures or other modifications if tables or figures are illegible, pixelated, or otherwise look unprofessional.
  • Authors should carefully copyedit manuscripts prior to submission.
  • Citations, references, and other formatting considerations not previously addressed should conform to guidance contained in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), Seventh Edition
