Abstract

The joint use of Rand Q technique factor analysis can be a potent tool for validation of tests and for theory elaboration. The paper presents a method for jointly using the two techniques. A study of the concerns of counseling students is used as an heuristic demonstration of the procedure. Subjects in the study were all the students enrolled in a graduate training program in a large university in the southwestern United States.
