Fall migration of mountain bluebirds (Sialia currucoides) in northwestern Cimarron County, Oklahoma
Main Article Content
Abstract
We report on the migration of Mountain Bluebirds (Sialia currucoides) during October 2016, in the general area of the Black Mesa, Cimarron County, Oklahoma. Based on Christmas Bird Count data and our observations, it appears that early Mountain Bluebird flocks migrate through the region while later flocks may winter in the area. Our data and the literature for Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis) suggest that the Mountain Bluebird most likely is a diurnal migrant.
