Executive Director's Message

The 2015 Convention Rocked! Many thanks to all of our wonderful members who attended the 2015 convention at the University of Central Oklahoma Conference Center. This year's convention included 65 sessions, 20 vendors, and two solid days of movement, education, and fellowship. A special thank you to the Board & Council for designing such an awesome convention for our members. With the generous support from our partners, TSET and Schools for Healthy Lifestyles, Jean Blaydes Moize, Bob Pangrazi, and Brian Levore provided in-depth workshops on action based learning and successful teaching strategies for PK-12. There truly was something for every attendee at the 2015 convention! President Susan McLemore and the OAHPERD Board & Council are already working hard to secure innovative programs and to develop ways to provide ways to give back to our members.

Our goal is to continue to offer great programs and services at the lowest price possible. Our association is financially healthy and our membership numbers continue to grow. However, we need all state physical educators, health educators, recreation professionals, exercise and fitness professionals to join together so OAHPERD can stay on the forefront for health education, physical education, and physical activity. We want to be viable and visible and the time is now! The public is aware now more than ever that physically active lifestyles are necessary for all Oklahomans. There are great things happening in Oklahoma and we should and must be a player. Please join President McLemore and the 2016 Board & Council for another exciting year. OAHPERD is here to serve you. Please share with us all of the positive things that are happening in your community as well as the concerns that you may have. Enjoy the spring semester!
